Colours of France 2009

From 12 to 19 October 2009, ATOUT FRANCE in South East Asia had organised “Colours of France” 2009, the annual series of workshops for travel trade professionals and the media, in close partnership with Air France and other esteemed French travel industry stakeholders. This year, “Colours of France” kicked off in Singapore, before moving on to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta. Altogether, “Colours of France” 2009 saw the attendance of more than 350 travel trade professionals and 101 journalists who were all eager to find out updates and information on the latest in France’s unique offerings, from services and products to its beautiful cities and regions.


Traditionally dedicated to key issues concerning France and the tourism industry, “Colours of France” provides travel trade professionals and the media in South East Asia numerous opportunities to better understand the country through presentations and discussions with participating tourism boards and tourist offices and transport and accommodation providers. At the recently concluded event, local travel trade professionals and the media were given the chance to speak to the participating partners for a greater insight into their products, services and activities through one-on-one interviews scheduled prior to the event.

Notably and for the first time ever, “Colours of France” enjoyed the distinguished participation of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau. Often the first stop and choice destination in France for many South East Asian visitors, the much-loved capital of France is internationally renowned for its unparalleled shopping, fine wines, exceptional gastronomy, arts and culture and even modern and heritage architecture. With the involvement of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, visitors to “Colours of France” certainly learnt more about the city’s plans and strategies to increase tourist numbers in upcoming years.

In addition to promoting France as a leisure travel destination, there was added emphasis this year on promoting the country and its regions as a unique location for the Meetings and Incentive industry.
