Jean-Marc AYRAULT, Perdana Menteri Perancis, mengingatkan kembali bahwa kebebasan berekspresi merupakan salah satu prinsip pokok Republik Perancis. Kebebasan tersebut dapat dinikmati dalam koridor hukum dan di bawah pengawasan pengadilan, begitu perkara dibawa ke ranah hukum.

Perdana Menteri juga mengingatkan kembali bahwa prinsip laïcité (sekularisme khas Perancis), serta nilai-nilai toleransi dan penghormatan terhadap keyakinan beragama, ada di jantung Pakta Republik Perancis, yang merupakan kesepakatan setiap warga untuk hidup berdampingan bersama-sama.

Oleh karenanya, dalam konteks saat ini, Perdana Menteri ingin menegaskan ketidaksetujuannya atas segala eksesnya. Beliau menghimbau agar setiap orang menunjukkan rasa tanggung jawabnya./.

Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault reaffirms that the freedom of expression is one of the fundamental principles of our Republic. This freedom is exercised within the framework of the law and under the supervision of the courts when a case is referred to them.

He also reaffirms the principle of laicité [secularism] which, along with the values of tolerance and respect for religious convictions, is at the heart of our Republican Pact.

And this is why, in the current context, the prime minister would like to express his disapproval of any excesses. He urges everyone to demonstrate a spirit of responsibility. /.
